Steel explorer yacht rebuilt in 2021 with 7000nm range, CAT D399, full Starlink, and serious autonomy
Originally built in 1982 as a North Atlantic scallop trawler, AN S Pierce was completely rebuilt in Newfoundland in 2021 and is now classed as a new build. She’s powered by a CAT D399 V16 with a 9 ft prop via a 4:1 reduction gearbox. With 21,000 gallons of fuel and a 7,000nm range at 9 knots, she’s fully capable of long-range, off-grid cruising. Accommodation includes multiple ensuite guest cabins and a dedicated crew area finished to the same standard. Equipped with Starlink, heavy-duty gear, stabilisation, and a full workshop, she’s ideal for high-latitude or remote work.
Steel hull with 9.5 mm plating increasing to 12.7 mm at the bow and stern. Rebuilt entirely in 2021 including new superstructure, systems, machinery, interior, and all technical spaces. The rebuild qualifies her as a new build under classification
Main engine is a CAT D399 V16 delivering 1100 hp via 4:1 reduction gearbox to a 9 ft prop. Bow and stern thrusters are hydraulic, powered via PTO from the CAT 3306 generator. Backup generators include a CAT 3304 (100 hp) and CAT 2.2. Stabilisation includes BGS keel fins, fuel and seawater ballast, and 30,000 kg of steel shot. Workshop with welding, compressor, and spares storage.

Four ensuite guest cabins, including a large owner’s suite and VIP cabin. All cabins have large windows, ample storage, and high-end finishes. Additional crew accommodation includes two crew cabins, a large crew galley, laundry area, and mess. All crew spaces are finished to guest standard. Capacity for 4–6 crew.
Dual tenders on boat deck with hydraulic crane. Cockpit with seating and BBQ. Flybridge with upper helm, second BBQ, modular furniture, and wind deflectors. Caprail access and wide walkarounds. Heavy-duty cleats and bollards throughout.
Two liferafts, high-capacity bilge/fire pumps, emergency lighting system, Dutch doors for escape, and full-length handrails throughout. Workshop includes tools and spares for remote maintenance.
